Terms of Service
Signoff by Lost in TV · Version 1.0 · 1 September 2026
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
Signoff is a digital release-form service for television and media production
("the Service"), operated by Lost in TV, a company registered in England and Wales
under company number 04801855, whose registered office is at 82A James Carter Road,
Mildenhall, Suffolk, IP28 7DE ("we", "us", "Lost in TV").
You can contact us at hello@lostintv.com.
These terms are a contract between us and the organisation that registers a Signoff
account ("you", "the Client"). They apply from the moment an account is
created on your behalf. The Signoff Data Processing
Agreement ("DPA") forms part of these terms.
The Service is provided for business use only. By registering, the person creating
the account confirms that they are authorised to accept these terms on the Client's behalf.
2. The Service
The Service lets you create productions and shoot days, publish digital release forms
for contributors and others to sign (including by signature capture and photo capture),
review and validate signed releases, and download signed releases as PDF documents with
a manifest. We may improve or modify features of the Service from time to time, and will
not materially reduce its core functionality during a period you have paid for.
3. Accounts
- You must provide accurate company and contact information and keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for keeping login credentials confidential and for all activity
under your account. Tell us promptly at hello@lostintv.com
if you believe an account has been compromised.
- Accounts are for the registering organisation and its personnel; they may not be
shared with, or operated for the benefit of, another organisation without our agreement.
4. Your content and your responsibilities
You are responsible for the content of the release forms you publish through the
Service, including the legal wording of any release, notice or agreement presented to a
person for signature ("Release Wording"). In particular:
- Release Wording is your agreement, not ours. A release signed through the
Service is a contract between you (or the production entity you act for) and the
person signing it. We are not a party to it and give no assurance that any Release
Wording is valid, enforceable or suitable for your purposes.
- Sample templates are a starting point, not legal advice. Any template wording
we make available in the Service library is provided for convenience only. You must
satisfy yourself — taking your own legal advice where appropriate — that the wording
you publish is right for your production.
- You are the data controller. You determine what personal data your forms
collect and why. You are responsible for having a lawful basis for that collection,
for the accuracy of the privacy information given to the people who sign, and for
honouring their rights under data protection law. Our obligations as your processor
are set out in the DPA.
- Children. If your forms are to be completed in respect of anyone under 18,
you are responsible for ensuring the form is completed and signed by a person with
parental responsibility and that your wording and process are appropriate.
5. Acceptable use
You must not use the Service:
- for anything unlawful, deceptive or fraudulent, including collecting personal data
under false pretences or impersonating another organisation;
- to collect data unrelated to the legitimate administration of a production;
- to probe, disrupt or circumvent the security or tenancy isolation of the Service; or
- to send unsolicited marketing to contributors whose details were collected through the Service,
unless you have a lawful basis of your own for doing so.
6. Fees
The Service is currently provided without charge. We may introduce fees or paid plans
by giving you at least 30 days' notice by email, and any fees will only apply from your
next use or billing period after that notice. If you do not wish to pay, you may terminate
under clause 9 and export your data.
7. Intellectual property
We (and our licensors) own the Service, its software, design and branding. You own
your content: your Release Wording, your production information, and the release records
collected on your behalf. You grant us the licence needed to host, process, display and
deliver that content to you — that is all we use it for, as described in the DPA. We may
use anonymised, aggregated usage statistics that identify neither you nor any individual.
8. Availability and support
We aim to keep the Service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted
availability. We may suspend the Service temporarily for maintenance, security or
operational reasons, giving advance notice where reasonably practicable. Support is
provided by email at hello@lostintv.com during
UK business hours.
9. Term, suspension and termination
- You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time by emailing us.
- We may suspend or terminate your account on notice if you materially breach these
terms (including the DPA), if we are required to by law, or if your use presents a
security or legal risk to the Service, other clients, or the people whose data it holds.
Where the breach is remediable we will give you a reasonable opportunity to remedy it first.
- We may also terminate for convenience on at least 60 days' notice.
- Your data on exit: for 30 days after termination (except termination for
serious breach involving unlawful use) you may export your release records as PDF
and CSV using the Service's export tools or by asking us. Deletion then follows the
timetable in the DPA.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is". We do not provide legal advice, and nothing in the
Service (including sample templates and any review status) constitutes confirmation
that a release is legally effective. To the fullest extent permitted by law we exclude
all implied warranties, conditions and terms.
11. Liability
- Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury
caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other
liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
- Subject to that, neither party is liable for loss of profits, revenue, anticipated
savings, goodwill, or for indirect or consequential loss.
- Subject to the above, our total aggregate liability to you in any 12-month period
is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid us for the Service in that period
and (b) £500.
12. Indemnity
You will indemnify us against costs, claims and losses arising from a third-party
claim relating to your Release Wording, your instructions to us, or your unlawful use of
the Service, except to the extent caused by our breach of these terms or of data
protection law applicable to us as processor.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms and the DPA from time to time. We will give at least 30
days' notice of material changes by email to your account address, showing the new
version number. If you continue to use the Service after the change takes effect, the
new version applies; if you object, you may terminate and export your data under clause 9.
14. General
- These terms and the DPA are the entire agreement between us about the Service and
replace any earlier discussions.
- Neither party may assign this agreement without the other's consent, except that we
may assign it to a successor of our business on notice to you.
- If any clause is found unenforceable, the rest remain in force. A failure to enforce
a right is not a waiver of it.
- No one other than you and us has rights under this agreement (the Contracts (Rights
of Third Parties) Act 1999 is excluded).
- Notices to us go to hello@lostintv.com;
notices to you go to your account email address.
15. Governing law
These terms, the DPA and any dispute arising from them are governed by the law of
England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
